Carhartt WIP

Amidst the surge in workwear trends worldwide, there are few brands with more presence in today’s vintage market than Carhartt. So, in addition to bolstering the silhouettes they introduced as early as 1889, the brand brought a diffusion branch to the market one hundred years later known as Carhartt WIP. An acronym for “Work in Progress,” the brand originally catered toward an exclusively European market, offering sharply tailored versions of their work jackets and trousers. However, they managed to greatly outdo their original target market through a greatly successful Bape x Carhartt WIP collection in 2006 that brought through a global lineup of retail chapters. These collaborations only continued to push the label forward, with the help of Stussy, Nike, and Converse.
