ACRONYM

The first Acronym capsule immediately turned heads, namely the Analog MD Clone Jacket, which made Time Magazine’s Coolest Inventions of 2002 shortlist. Along with its commercial acclaim, early product lines made the brand’s inspiration unmistakably apparent. Much of their influence is derived from creator Errolson Hugh’s love of karate, specifically the functionality of the karategis he had been training in since the age of 10. For Hugh, the most enticing factor of this martial arts uniform is the freedom of movement it allows, an idea carried forth in all of Acronym’s collections to date. In the same vein, each of their pieces contain an immeasurable amount of functionalities. To name a few, they use Gore-Tex Pro, removable Storm Hoods, external mounts, along with technology created to accommodate audio electronics.
